Experience Christmas in Knuthenborg
When winter settles over Lolland and Christmas music can be heard in the distance, we open the gates for the very first time to Christmas at Knuthenborg – an atmospheric Christmas experience in Knuthenborg Safaripark for the whole family. Here, nature, animals, and Christmas spirit come together in a unique setting. In Limpopoland we gather everything Christmas with fir branches, sparkling lights, warm flavors, and cozy Christmas activities for both children and adults. Here you can warm yourself with mulled wine and hearty, Christmas-inspired dishes, which can be enjoyed by one of our many fire pits.
The rest of the park lies calm and wintry with wolves, tigers, camels, the open Elefantstald and the Museum of Evolution, a warm little oasis in the middle of the day.
As a day guest, you can experience Christmas at Knuthenborg from 12:00–18:00, with atmosphere, lights, animal experiences, and time together in the winter landscape.
If you’d like to extend the experience, you can turn your visit into a Christmas stay.
When darkness falls, we welcome our camping guests inside for a Christmas-inspired evening menu in Limpopoland, where seasonal flavors and warm dishes bring the family together around the table in cozy surroundings. Afterwards, you can retreat to your luxury cabin in our camps, where the Christmas spirit continues in the snug cabins while tigers and wolves move calmly on the other side of the window.
The next morning you wake up in the middle of nature – to silence, winter light and plenty of time, before a new day begins at Christmas in Knuthenborg.
Whether you choose a day trip or an overnight stay, Christmas at Knuthenborg is a different kind of Christmas experience on Lolland, with togetherness, good food, and encounters close to the animals.
Practical information
Christmas at Knuthenborg takes place on weekends from 14 November – 20 December as well as 27 – 30 December. The park is open for day visitors from 12:00 – 18:00. It is also possible to book accommodation on these dates.
The Christmas theme is centered in Limpopoland, where you’ll find fir trees, lights, cozy stalls and an open playground including the fun Kampala Express ride. The rest of the park can be experienced at a calmer winter pace, with a focus on the animals and nature.
Please note that Christmas at Knuthenborg is not a Christmas market, but an atmospheric overall experience with animals, nature, and Christmas coziness at its heart.
Overnight stays are available in selected camps, including Christmas dinner in Knuthenborg’s cozy restaurant in Limpopoland. The number of overnight stays is limited, and we recommend booking well in advance. The Christmas dinner is included in the price, and you can read about the menu further down on this page.

We recommend warm clothing, good shoes, and preferably some extra layers – the winter weather is part of the experience, and the fresh air is an essential part of Christmas.
